New Year, New Start, New Studio.
With the closure of our studio, Wolstenholme Creative Space back in December 2012, I along with my friends and fellow artists Cherie Grist and Laura O’Reilly, we decided to set up our own studio group the 104 Duke Street Collective (Keeping it simple) the address.
When looking for space we fell in love with the old printing building and its little features, it is the perfect space for what we want to do, it is safe, warm, a friendly environment, centrally located for professional artists and creative people, for them to be able to create and do their work.
It is in its second month, and it has been a challenge, with a lot of work still to be done, but the experience has been invaluable.
We eventually want to be able to put on exhibitions and events, and really make use of the space. It is also providing a base for me to run my monthly critique groups, for more information about Liverpool Critique Group and to find out when the next crit is please visit Liverpool Critique Group’s twitter.
The collective is small, consisting of 9 of us ranging from fine artists to graphic designers; it is made up of: My self, Colette Lilley, Cherie Grist, Laura O’Reilly, Karen O’Brien, Candy Payne, Joanne McClellan, Nicola Hand, Russ Reid , Amy Jones.
We are currently full but if you would like to be considered for a space and added to the waiting list please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
2013 already seems like a great exciting year!
